Lalaguna Villas is delighted to announce we have won the prestigious Travelers Choice award from travel review site TripAdvisor for 2023, for the fourth consecutive year.
Based on thousands of reviews for hundreds of resorts and dive shops in the Philippines we are now ranked the number one best value dive resort in Puerto Galera and we could not be more thrilled about it!
The Travelers’ Choice award is given to fewer than one in ten hotels, whose consistently strong reviews show a “commitment to hospitality excellence” – placing the resort among the very best-reviewed places to stay in the world.
Now in its 21st year, Travelers’ Choice showcases the best hotels in multiple categories and regions, based on the reviews and opinions of millions of travelers from around the planet.
Unlike traditional industry awards which require an entrance fee, surveys, or the judgement of a few magazine editors or awarding officials, these awards are the result of real-life traveler insights collected over a 12-month period on Tripadvisor.
As of this blog post, based on independent unbiased customer reviews, we are TripAdvisor’s NUMBER ONE BEST VALUE RESORT in Puerto Galera out of more than 250 places to stay

One recent guest whose TripAdvisor username is LeonardL stayed with us in April and was kind enough to write: “Fantastic resort with comfortable rooms, professional, friendly crew at the dive centre and impeccable service by the staff at the restaurant! It is also in close proximity to all the restaurants and pubs along the coast.
“Rooms: They have several types of rooms from the standard rooms to suites with huge balconies that faces to ocean. Good beds/linens with well-stocked bathrooms.
“Dive centre: Very new and well-serviced equipment and tanks. Dive manager (Ja) and her team make sure they takes care of you throughout your day out at sea.
“Restaurant: Wide variety of food and beverages on the menu from Asian, western to local delicacies. Draft and bottle beers are available. The service crew is top-notch!
“I highly recommend this place for anyone who plans to visit Puerto Galera.”

“Starting from their enthusiastic replies despite our many enquiries at ADEX all the way to assisting to book our transport there and the amazing dives, it was all in all easily a 5* experience!
“You can imagine the attention and care the staff puts into their work when you get stuff like hot towels after every dive despite the dive shop being 5 mins away!!!
“Special mention to Robert and Anto for all the dives and their amazing ability to spot critters both large and small. Honourable mention to Jamie and Daniel for always keeping things hyped up and fun as well!

Another of April’s customers, “bluekky”, took the time to write: “From the moment we got picked up from the private port in Batangas to the moment we got dropped back off, the service and standard was 5 star.
“All staff were very friendly and welcoming. They offered to help you with anything and everything you needed. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by the onwer who gave us a very detailed run down of the resort and answered any questions we had.
“We love the fact the pool and restaurant is open 24hrs. They have a very extensive dive shop set up, everything you could possibly need. Great dive masters. Diving is first class in Puerto Galera.
“We stayed in a 2 bedroom luxury villa. It was massive and ample space for 4 of us with a full size kitchen, lounge and dining. Great for families.
“All meals were wonderful and all restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.
“Note: There are alot of stairs on the property as it is built into the hill so you can get the amazing views from your room.
“We will definitely be back!”
And a guest who stayed just a couple of weeks ago, Jeff, had this to say: “My first time taking vacation in Philippines. I can’t say enough about how wonderful my experience at LLV was. From the owner (Daniel) meeting me upon arrival (even though late at night) through to the amazing and friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant/bar (Ben, Blessing, many others).
“Plus a special shout-out to all the awesome folks in the dive shop (Mike, Anton, Jamie, Jha, many more) who helped me get even more comfortable diving, plus completing my advanced open water and enhanced air (nitrox) certifications.
“LLV is an amazing resort. It’s situated close enough to nightlife in Sabang, yet far enough way for peaceful calm and tranquility. If I lived in Manila, I would come down here every weekend!
“The diving in the area is also world-class, with all the best spots just minutes (like <10) from the resort. My comparison would be places I have visited in eastern Indo (Komodo, Raj Ampat), Thailand (Phuket, Samui) and the Caribbean (Bonaire).. Puerto Galera is right up there as one of the BEST!
“All the LLV dive equipment was up to date and obviously well-maintained. Felt 100% safe and secure at all times, plus had a chance to see amazing marine life – from soft/hard corals to zillions of different fishes, many turtles and loads of colorful/unique nudibranches.
“Diving included wrecks and drift dives as well. I can’t say enough about how awesome my visit was. Loved the resort and the people. Food was delicious as well! Only negative was the morning I had to depart the hotel and head back to reality. 🙁
“Hope to return soon and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this destination whether a solo traveler or family looking to get away and have an out-of-this-world experience. Thank you LLV!!!”
